  • What happens during the treatment?
Once the appropriate product has been decided on, photos will be taken both before and after the treatment. The hands will be cleaned and a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied. The treatment area will be marked out with a sterile white marker. Injections will be carried out using either a needle or a cannula.
  • How long does the treatment take?
You will be in the clinic for 30 – 45 minutes, depending on the treatment being done.
  • Does it hurt?
The sensations can be described as “pinchy” but most people find this quite tolerable
  • How long will the effects last?
Depending on the treatment chosen for the hands, the effects will last up to 9 months. It is recommended that you also use hand cream and SPF daily to prolong the effects.
  • Do I need repeated treatments?
As with most aesthetic treatments maintenance is required. But with good homecare as well as the clinic treatments the effects can last so that treatment may only need to be done once a year. Twice if the treatment is profhilo.
  • What will I look like immediately after treatment?
Immediately after treatment there will be some raised bumps, this will disappear over the next few hours. It is possible to get some bruising.
  • Do I need to do anything special before or after the treatment?
Before treatment it is recommended to limit alcohol for 24 hors and limit the use of anti-inflammatory painkillers, both of these can increase the risk of bruising. Some supplements such as vitamin e and fish oils can also have this effect, so stopping these a few days before treatment can also be useful. Do not stop any prescribed prescription medication without discussing this first. After treatment, keep the hands clean and avoid the use of hand creams for 4 hours.
